The role of the Student Ombudsperson is to defend and protect the rights and legitimate interests of all students at the European University in the various aspects of their academic experience.
The Student Ombudsperson is an independent figure in accordance with the Statutes of the European University and has complete autonomy in relation to the other bodies of the European University. The Student Ombudsperson may request information and collaboration from the different departments of the University. Suggestions and proposals for change by the Student Ombudsperson are intended to improve the quality of the student experience at the European University.

Sara Rodrigues de Sousa
Sara Rodrigues de Sousa has a degree in Modern Languages and Literatures (Portuguese and French Studies) and a Master's degree in Romance Studies from the University of Lisbon. In 2010, she obtained her PhD in Literature and Culture Studies, specialising in Comparative Studies, from the same institution. Her main research topics include Literary Heritage and Tourism, Iberian Literature and Rhetoric.
At the European University, in addition to teaching various courses, Sara Rodrigues de Sousa has also held other management positions, such as coordinating the Language Laboratory and co-coordinating the Hotel Management programme, as well as participating in the university's Scientific and Pedagogical Councils.
In general, and within the foreseen deadlines, the Student Ombudsperson should be contacted once other competent bodies of the European University have been consulted.
