Francisco Valente Gonçalves, Assistant Professor at the European University and Principal Investigator of the PAOLA Project, funded by the European Commission, has been nominated for the prestigious Tágides Award. This award recognizes and celebrates projects, initiatives and works of excellence in promoting a culture of integrity and preventing and combating corruption in Portugal.
The professor's nomination represents recognition of the impact of the PAOLA Project, which recently launched the Observatory for Whistleblowing in Academia. This innovative initiative aims to increase literacy about unethical behavior in the academic context, as well as promoting good practices in universities across Europe.
The Observatory aims to create tools that foster a culture of transparency and ethics in higher education, strengthening the fundamental values of academic integrity.
