From February 24 to 28, 2025, the 19th edition of International Week will bring together, over five days, around 50 to 60 participants from universities around the world, including professors, researchers and representatives of International Mobility Offices.
The event, organized by the European University's International Relations Office, IADE-UE and IPAM, aims to promote international mobility programmes, offer networking opportunities and share best practices between the local academic community and representatives of partner institutions, as well as boosting international research projects.
Two Featured Programs
To achieve these objectives, the International Week will feature two main programs:
- Lecture Program: speakers will have the opportunity to give two international seminars and participate in research meetings.
- Staff Program: will include Study Abroad Fairs, presentations from partner universities and discussion forums focused on international mobility.
Central Theme: Education with Impact
This year's edition will be dedicated to the theme “Education with impact: how to reinvent learning to prepare students for an ever-changing future?”. The debate will address the challenges that educational institutions face in adapting teaching methodologies to rapid social change and the new expectations of students.
According to Professor Fernando Santos, lecturer at IPAM Porto:
“Universities face a growing set of changes in societies and new needs and expectations from students. In this International Week we aim to stimulate debate on how to reinvent learning in order to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge to thrive in a constantly evolving world. Teachers must adapt and reinvent their teaching methods to ensure that students are prepared for this new landscape. This means embracing new technologies to create more engaging and personalized learning experiences, as well as nurturing students' skills such as critical thinking, problem solving and effective collaboration. By embracing new approaches and focusing on the evolving needs of students, higher education schools can certainly continue to play a crucial role in contemporary societies. The big question, however, remains: how to do it?”
With a diverse program and participants from all over the world, the International Week promises to be a privileged space for reflection, innovation and collaboration in higher education.
